Alright auto tranny HP Tuner gurus @nd4spdbh @loginfailed. I think I know what I want, but not sure how to get there:

Ideally, I'd love the tranny to hold 4th gear when I've manually selected 4 and not shift down to 3rd. Is there a way to have it hold 4th or even hold 4th longer/at higher throttle input before kicking down to 3rd when I've manually selected 4th but just drive/shift normally when D is selected?

    Thanks!

I think I’m going to do the VIAIR 10007. I think having a tank makes more sense for my use case.

I think you can make it hold 4th longer (delay downshift) by adjusting the 4-3 table.

That's a sweet setup. What are your needs that merit a tank?

Long story, but a guy filled up my completely flat 285 75 R16 in no time flat with that same VIAIR. It's a sweet little pump!

Cool. Any tips there? I haven't played with any of the trans tables although you were kind enough to send me a lot of good trans tuning info.

I'd rather not have the compressor running straight to whatever I'm using. I'd like the tank to be a buffer. For instance, airing up a bicycle tire or volleyball. Small items would be aired up way too fast coming straight off the compressor.

If you look at the table, the top row is pedal position and bottom is driveshaft RPM. I haven't put much thought into it because I've had several adult beverages today, but I think if you increase the RPM in the bottom row it will take more pedal for it to downshift. More smarter and more sober people can correct me if I'm wrong!

Also, I re-read your original question and I don't believe there is a way currently to make the trans operate differently based on it being in D4 vs D5.

Compared to contemporary offerings from other makers (heck...even KIA!), the A750 leaves a lot to be desired, this from a life-long Toyota fanboi. I'll play with the 4-3 Table and keep paying attention to what you guys come up with. Thanks!

Thats the air setup i have. I wouldnt buy it again. Does it work, yeah but it really doesnt do anything great to the point id suggest it. Id just get a standalone compressor that had more flow. Imo the tank has zero benefit unless you want to run airtools but the compressor cant keep up anyways.

Id get a 400p and save the money. Still air everything up you want and you could hard mount it if you wanted to. Plus it flows more

Unfortunately NO, not how the auto trans logic is setup in our trucks, now if it was a 3rd gen 6 speed you probably could, as their logic is completely different, I know lexus vehicles like a GS350 when put in manual mode will hold a gear when you mash it, you can lug the vehicle in 7th no problem haha.

But like stated you can hold onto 4th gear longer, by LOWERING the values in the 4-3 table. You have AP % and then associated Driveshaft Output rpms (just like every other shift table). But for the downshift tables you have to think of it opposite as the upshift. That is, for downshift the driveshaft rpm has to be below the value for the AP % for a downshift to occur, if its above that value for a specific throttle input a downshift wont take place.

For upshift tables, driveshaft rpm has to be ABOVE that driveshaft value for a specific AP % for the upshift to occur.

If you take a look at my big Auto shift point Tuner excel document you can see the changes I made to upshifts and downshifts. 2 to 3, 3 to 4, and 4 to 5 have all been raised at lower throttle openings to raise shift points 2-5mph, and the 3-2 downshift values have been lowered to reduce some hunting in the 2 and 3 gears.
