I'm worried now, did he run out of gas try to hitch hike and get murdered?

Pushing the limit and cruising the highway while sitting white knuckled on the edge of your seat watching the gas gauge is a truly miserable experience. I loathe it. I can't understand why someone would subject themselves to stress like that to save a few dollars.

He was taking photos and texting while driving. Maybe he drove off the road and is in a ditch somewhere?

I made it there and back. For the most part I did the actual reading at stop lights and used the talk to text function on my phone paired with Bluetooth. I don’t like people who text and drive either. It’s more dangerous than drinking and driving IMO. While not entirely innocent I wasn’t doing any swerving.

I didn’t chance it. I found a Kroger 1 mile away from my destination which I filled up at. The light came on minutes before I stopped to fill it up. It held 17.2 gallons. So in theory, at 20 mpg and 70 miles left to drive I could have probably actually made it home.

To answer some of the questions. My truck has so few miles on it because although it’s my daily driver. I bike to work 99% of the time since I live only 3/8 mile away. My 2017 Mustang GT has only 6,000 miles on it BTW. This summer my Taco will probably go to ECGS for gears and lockers front and rear.

The item I was buying was 3 cases of Wolf Gold .223 for $550. and it was actually Armslist. We had to be back in town in time to meet with family to visit the cemetery. I didn’t have time to drive to the local Kroger before departing on the trip and as I only fill my truck every month or two I wanted to get the $10 bucks off of a fill up. I’m a 41 year old whose girlfriend is a serial coupon junkie so i didn’t want to take any shat from her about not getting that discount.

Also my truck doesn’t have a “brake problem”. That pic was taken when I was parked. It has a manual tranny I had the park brake applied.

Well, at least one cliff hanger is resolved. Glad you made it, didn't look like you had 70 miles of gas before the light would come on.
