This may have been brought up before but I can not locate anything on the forum. The left side of the steering wheel in the dashboard board is an empty slot. Not sure what to do with it, too small for any common use. This would be nice if it had some kind of cover over the hole. What have you folks used this empty space for looking for ideas.
    Thanks.

It’s just the perfect size to hold my garage door opener. I can just stick my finger in and push the button.

Nice pic but what if you don't add all the extra items?

That would be OK but I have the opener built in my mirror.

So you just want to cover the opening? Why not just leave it until you find a use for it?

Exactly where mine is, I actually wish there was a mod that I could just push a button (al la homelink) instead, but it works fine.

I found that the small boxes of chewing gum, with the flap top, fit perfectly. I like gum, worked for me.

I like that, but I wouldn't have the first idea of how to hardwire it. I'm a little chickenshit that way....

My remote came with a 12volt battery so it was easy to power it off the fuse block. Some remotes are 3 volts so they require a voltage converter circuit.

It’s so easy a caveman could do it! The converter is under $3 on eBay. Hardest part is taking the remote apart and soldering the power and switch to it. Funny thing about this mod, once I hard wired it in the range more than doubled!
