I'm looking at this 02 1st gen tacoma, I wanted it for parts but I was thinking 'maybe I can save it'. So the frontend was smashed (thats all the damage I can see at the moment) and its pushed in quite a bit. Since I don't know how to weld I was wondering what other yr cabs can I use in its placed?

The frames changed slightly in 1998 (iirc), and the double cab uses the same frame as the extracab. I'm pretty sure the body panels all bolt up. People have put the newer fenders/grill/hood from a 2001+ on older bodies.

Depending on the amount of damage to the front end, there are several people who have repaired front-end damage for relatively cheap and it's pretty easy to DIY. Usually just radiator, fenders, grill, hood, bumper, and random odds and ends, etc...

That looks like a 2001-2004, right?

Frame would be highly suspect given the damage to that lower crossmember. Also looks a bit rusty, so before going in deep with a resto, make sure the frame is even worth repairing.

Might just stick to using it for parts...

Yeah, I told the owner I would like to take a look at it when I get back. That is if he still has it.

I guess if I go the route of replace the cab I can rust proof the frame. Its located in the southern states.
