Get the Entune Premium upgrade. It's real navigation.

i've read a lot of complaints about entune navigation. i would be inclined to get the non-premium and get a garmin or some such with free lifetime traffic and map updates and a mount system.
that is what i did with my sr5.
i believe entune nav requires stiff map update $ occasionally as well. lifetime/traffic maps does not.
don't even try the scout crap. it is a joke.

Edit: if you want to use your phone, Waze or google maps are good and free.
Beware some garmins don't get traffic unless you hook up a phone or buy a special adapter (even though they say it is free)...if you need your phone, what do you need garmin for?
for a good offline nav, try Navmii. you can preload entire maps (state, country etc) and
not need any phone service like Waze or Google Maps do (though google maps will let you preload a useless small region).
if no realtime phone service while using Navmii, you won't get traffic etc but you
will if you have phone service. just options. all better than entune.

Definitely worth the upgrade. Scout sucks but the actual entune GPS is actually pretty good, convenient too since you can use the HU screen and directions even display on the cluster as well. I also like having speed limits right on the instrument panel so you dont have to wonder. I find it works fairly well (though admittedly not as good as google). Anyway just my two cents. Plus with the upgrade you get a bigger (much nicer) HU

there is definitely a convenience factor if you have everything in one unit and you don't want to deal with hiding the garmin or phone when you leave the vehicle.
there is also a convenience factor of having 2 screens...you get full access to you head unit without losing your nav screen.
for everyday use i think i would not be happy with the garmin or phone solution but for occasional use i prefer the separate units. ymmv.

edit: i think having speed limit and actual speed (with configurable overspeed alerts) on the nav screen is pretty common but i have really only used garmin unit and navmii on the phone. i am pretty sure google maps does that but i have not used it enough to remember.

When using your Scout, you have to have your phone connected ( With a cord) which drives me nuts having that cord all over. Thanks for all the answers, gotta work on the wife to purchase a Tacoma

I am able to use Scout through the bluetooth connection. Although I'm not a huge fan of the scout so hardly ever use it.

Can you get that installed after the fact? My truck is two weeks old with Audio Plus, would consider upgrading if possible.
