    Hello,

New to the group! Hoping you guys can help.

I had a new to me engine put into my 98 4 Runner. The new engine is from a 98 Tacoma.

The mechanic used the oil pan from the old engine due to the fact that the differential on the 4 Runner is right under the oil pan and the oil pan from the new Tacoma motor wouldn’t fit.

Trouble is, the oil dipstick doesn’t register oil. They tried the dipstick from both motors and nothing. The dipstick tubes weren't interchangeable due to the different locations of my original stick. It was through the timing cover and the new one is on the side of the oil pan.

    What does one due??

    Dame in distress!

    Reserected from the dead.
Get a piece of stiff wire and make your own.

After you put 5.7 qts in it, mark the spot on the wire. Just use the old DS to keep the tube covered.
