Food allergy maybe? Allot of Indian recipes are heavy on spices and do have strong odors.

...and chicken tika is pretty damn good. Your point is?

I work in IT management. I don’t care where the fuck someone was born - can they do the job, and can they pass the background investigation? Outside of prior military employees, I have more qualified contractors and new position applicants who are first-generation or naturalized Americans. They work hard, they do quality work, and they don’t do stupid shit. Their kids get good grades, they bring neat treats to potluck lunches, and they’re polite to a fault.

You need to get to know some folks beyond your own neighborhood before talking poorly about them.

Made me think of the goat stew that some Afghans shared with me when we were out in the desert. Pretty good stuff for being stupid simple.

Dude, as a hungry ass country boy I ate the first serving of all kinds of stuff. In Afghan you can legit make friends for life with a handful of salt and pepper packets and a few mini bottle of Tabasco.

I still miss the shawarmas and other street meat in Riyadh. I hated the locals, but got along great with my fellow TCNs.

It’s the garam masala. It’ll burn your nostrils and esophagus if you use too much.

Apparently, a “pinch” means something else to Preet (Amit’s wife) than it does to me.

Camel is good. Horse is good. Mexican food is good. Chinese food is good (I poke the meat first to check if it barks). Italian nope! (I grew up on it).
