I thought I would try a different solution for attaching and organizing stuff to the inside of my console lid. I had tried the Gridit, which is really good but didn't really work for me. I was inspired by a line of velcro attachments used for configuring field notebook covers, and made by CPGear.

First I removed and cleaned the plastic insert inside the console cover (5 screws) and then covered it with strips of velcro tape. re-installed, it gives me a completely configurable surface.

Next, I added detachable velcro pen holder, mini clipboard clip (holds reward card for coffee),
and a zip pouch. The full assortment can be found here.

I might move the attachments around a bit later, but this is working really well!

no, the tray in the first pic is sold separately.

Gonna have to look into those Velcro items. I tried the Gridit thing too but it wasn't working for me

CPGear has some pretty cool options. I am still thinking I might get one of the credit card holders for cards and papers that need to stay in the vehicle. Inspection and registration etc.

Cool, I had the console Safe and it was great for its intended purpose. But really limited my routine storage options.

Gridit is okay, but I like this idea much better. Might try to find a wider piece of velcro and just have one solid piece. Thanks for the post.
