We have an 09 Tacoma with 370,000 miles going to upgrade all suspension, oversize off-road tires, locker. Was wondering how installing a transfer and not using the front of the transfer. Would offer a lower geared locked off roader. Just wondering?

Have you run into instances where lower gearing would help? I always thought the trick with prerunners was to carry speed offroad.

I think it's still quite a lot of work to add the transfer case. You want to be able to go 2 Low Locked?

You're better off selling it and getting a cheap 4x4 IMHO.

I don't know much about this stuff but adding an manual FJ case would be simplest. No computers or electronics.

Or get the biggest rear end gears you can find. 5.29?
