I bought my truck used 8 months ago, I’m pretty sure it was only a 90 day warranty... I only have 49K miles. If Toyota won’t replace them I might as well just experiment with retrofitting.

Yea, sounds like you are out of warranty. The enclosure type that is in your truck is fine for halogen or HID. Might be able to find some low cost ones in the junk yards.

For LED you are going to need an aftermarket enclosure.

If you feel like they're toast, then you can get some junk yard housings. You'll save money doing that.

I run 5.5K LEDs for low beam and have zero issues. Weird you would switch bulbs when the housing was already leaking. Did you happen to open the bulb connections to look at all before this started? You may have improperly seated the connections to the housing.

All the other replies giving you info about lack of distance projection vs. HIDs, and these housing not designed for LEDs is the truth. However, ignore the handful giving you shit. It's your truck and money.

This has me wondering if the order is reversed.

Probably one of two issues; the housings are cracked/not sealed properly or the bulbs were not securely installed.
