I just bought a 2015 dbl cab 6 cyl trd off road. A couple of things. First, how do I check the auto trans fluid? And the mud flaps; they drag across obsticles when 4 wheeling. Does this drive anyone else crazy or is it just me?

I'll let others comment on the trans. But for the mud flaps, you can either take them off, trim them down, or buy shorter replacements. I took my fronts off but left the back ones on personally. I don't wheel much though.

The transmission dipstick is on the right side with the red ring, it's circled in the picture below.

As far as the mud flaps they are a little annoying because they are pretty stiff. if you don't want to remove them completely there are some aftermarket ones that are shorter or more flexible. Husky makes a few different options https://www.huskyliners.com/muddog-mud-flaps/2015/toyota/tacoma

I just changed my oil and learned that my AT is a sealed type. Thanks for all of the responses.

If you drained the trans by mistake, it's OK to admit it. Lots of people do it.
