Thanks for the information! I will need to replace my tires in a few months, really like the looks of these tires.
I currently have the St Maxx, but they are getting worn and I'm looking for something just a little more road friendly. I'm still staying with an E load tire especially with Goodyear's softer sidewall design.

After a months worth of research I’ve ordered a set of these and they should be here tomorrow (265/70/R16)

Probably will be next week before I’m able to put them on.

Starting out it was my intention to buy FW’s, but I read way to much about the balancing problems.
Even with the balancing problems I had them in my final 3, especially when I found them on Walmart and Amazon for $122 a tire.

In the end the Utraterrain won out because of FW’s balancing issues

Got the SCS 17x8.5's wrapped in the Wrangler Ultraterrain ATs this morning. Plenty of room with stock UCA...I'll be getting them out and about and provide feedback as the miles rack up!

might be due to it's exclusivity to Discount Tire?

As mentioned it is because this is a Discount Tire Exclusive tire.

You can check out the additional specs on Discount Tires's website. Here is a link where you can search by size:

    They are stock size SL.

Balanced well, not much louder than stock if at all, maybe lost 1 MPG (haven’t checked).
Doesn’t seem to have made the truck sluggish (disclaimer I use the ECT button ).
Only dry weather so far, and nothing off road yet......not that I do anything very harsh in the off road department.
I love the look and I’m pleased with how it all turned out.

I have 400 miles on them now (OBX trip over Memorial Holiday Weekend), they're slightly noisier than the 275/60r20 Pro Comp AT Sport's...and granted going to the SCS S6 17x8.5 wheel saved me ~54lbs over the 20x9 wheels, I also appeared to shed 2lbs for each tire (not counting the difference in replacing the spare with S6 and 285/70r17 in OEM spare spot)...but I've gone from averaging ~18.9 to nearly 20.1 mpg (actually averaged 21.16mpg on the OBX round trip).

Spare fits, but has the slightest gap between the exhaust heat shield and the spare up under the bed...but eventually plan on chopping back the exhaust, so that might not be "an issue" further down the road.

No off road driving (aside from our private rutted out gravel road and my mostly dirt and weed riddled backyard, dropping wood off for splitting), no wet weather experience to-date, but then again I just got them put on last Thursday 23 May 2019.

    Plenty of UCA space with the 285/70 on a 17x8.5 w/ 4.30 backspace and -10mm offset.scs 285-70r17 front-end road view work shot.jpg UCA w_Ultraterrain 5-27.jpg

I have about 14k miles on them. And really am very happy with them. Not too loud, pretty good grip through the north Dakota winter. Pure ice they would slip a bit, but that expected on anything but studs and chains. In water they and heavy rain they do well. Mud pretty good, they don't clear mud as good as a true mud tire but didn't seem to lose much traction. Overall, I will most likely buy them again when I wear these out.
Moab type rocks, they are quite sticky and climb my usual spots with ease. Like the duratrac, they have a good and soft sidewall so the tire flexes quite well.
I do feel like they stop similar if not better in wet and snow better than the duratrac. There are a few spots on my drive to not Dakota, that I could get the duratrac's to spin a bit in wet conditions, but these seem to connect better and not spin as easily.

And fwiw, I was told these are the exact same carcase as the duratrac, but are the discount exclusive tread.

I have nicknamed mine "duratrac's dirty little sister"

Just got them yesterday, LT265/75R16's. Not a huge visual impact over the stock size but definitely should survive some moderate trails. I was really considering 255/85 Yokohama M/Ts but I'm 90% on road so just keeping it practical until I get hooked on off roading. Biggest surprise was in being an E tire they feel soft and not jarring. 38psi and a taller sidewall give alot of cushion with these.

Side note- The DT location that installed my wheels and tires somehow does not have any torx bits, so they couldnt install the faux bead lock rings. Not a big deal, but after installing them myself the tires seem to have come out of balance. I think I’ll donate some torx bits so they can install the next persons wheels correctly.
