Had my vehicle aligned at a reputable 4wheel drive suspension shop. I guess they did a 4wheel alignment. My numbers reflect this and the cost def. did. After the alignment there is s very annoying rattle/knock sounds like something is loose. What all is done on a rear alignment? Doesn’t seem like much can be adjusted on a solid axle. I would like to retrace their steps. I am 2.5 hrs away from the shop so can’t take it back right now. The noise was def not there before going to shop. I am very aware of these annoying subtle noises and will drive me nuts till I find it. Thanks everyone for any advice!!

First thing I checked was torqued. I torqued them to 80lbs. None were loose. The spec sheet notes that thrust was changed in rear. I live in Alaska. They are the number one rated shop for alignments and off road suspension. I am told them I installed a suspension lift and needed an alignment. I put a 3leaf aal in the rear but had 0 noise for a month before taking it to the shop. I guess I will start banging on things some more and try to figure it out. It’s only on small bumps like washboards or cracks in pavement, parking lots and sounds like something loose clinking around. Sometimes it is a distinct single knock and sometimes a series of small knock/rattle.

    Thanks for the feedback

Did u check your spare tire? I started to hear a small rattling noise, then after a few days, started slightly clunking when I hit speed bumps or cracks. Looked under my truck and saw nothing, but while crawling out, I had my hand on the spare... The spare tire moved just a slight bit. So I took out the jack tools and tightened her up. Noise never came back. Long shot, but worth a look...

Or could just be the spare tire chain bouncing/dangling around when you hit those bumps.

Def. a good thought. I did however check the tire and gave it a crank to see if it was loose. The noise/knock is heavier than a chain would be. Thanks for the idea though.

upload_2019-5-28_23-49-50.jpgThis is with a two inch front lift and JBA UCA’s. Note the rear number differences. Trying to understand how it was adjusted and see if something was loose. As you said however, I think the U lots would be it and they are at 80lbs do all tight.

Aren't the U-bolts on 3rd Gen suppose to be at 52ft/lb?

I have new longer grade 8 u bolts from headstrong that are supposed to be 80-85. I also think that 3rd gen is supposed to be 70 or 75.
