As long as your having fun and the truck is safe that's what counts. Have you considered methanol to eliminate the pinging possiblity?

Yup that's next on the list. The 7th has helped but in it's stock format it's not enough, I have a couple files for different tunes to try but I have to get the right laptop/software to update it and it's difficult to obtain now because it's so outdated. I think I'm going to either ditch the 7th and add meth or just do meth alone, haven't decided yet.

Then there's the small problem of both the 7th and meth being illegal in CA (no CARB approved kits), but there's ways around that. I got lucky my last smog the tech didn't notice the 7th, but the meth kit will be a little more difficult to hide lol. Also not that hard to uninstall for the test though.

Yeah the wife and I are making plans to hopefully be out of here in the next couple of years. Too difficult to get ahead out here with all the BS laws and cost of living, etc.

I will miss the wheeling though, we have almost every kind of offroad environment you can imagine a couple hours in any direction. But it's not worth putting up with all the other crap. Plenty of other states in the west with great outdoors and less BS to deal with.

I can neither confirm or deny the existence of parts that are not friendly to polar bears....

I got behind on this thread again... illness, injury, life, other hobbies... well you get the picture. Not valid excuses, I know, but at least I'm here now.

Update: truck still runs fine. Got pedal commander which I'm pretty happy with. Tried Carbinite, review overall is good - great torque and throttle response but wore out the belt after 200 miles. I did get a 2nd pulley to try it out, so I'll make a track piece. Takes like 10 mins or less to swap out.

My want list for parts continues to grow faster than my ability to pay for them. I'm ignoring the various bill collection agencies that keep calling, but alas there's not a whole lot I can do for them right now.

I didn't read everything since I was last here but here's some comments on the last few pages.

This reminds me of an issue my friend had with his car (a '89 Supra) - he had knock on one cylinder. Granted his car wasn't tuned perfectly, but it was the result of lean mixture on that one cylinder due to the rails delivering inadequate pressure. He was/is heavily modified so I don't think they were stock rails but the argument stands, when your fuel delivery goes up - way up - you push the flow design of the rails, without realizing it, and without signs until it's too late. I'd be in for a group buy on these rails.

$700 is more what I'd expect. The ones for my car were $1200 but they were a pretty wonky intricate design - side feed injectors.

I was thinking 2.0 would be nice. Or 1.87, even.

I'd like a set of rails if this doesnt happen immediately. 5k in the last 3 months is a bit painful on the wallet.

Newest addition. Picked up this Tundra airaid jr intake off Amazon to get rid of that giant resonator that makes a strange sound at the upper rpm. It’s almost a direct fit. Nothing a few minutes with a saw can’t fix.
