These are what I have and they are great https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074LT5B1M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Did you upgrade the harness? I know sometimes if you don't it won't be as bright as it should be. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHSFLTZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Those aren't real projectors. Just a mock lens. Just get some Hella E-codes. It's the best plug and play halogen headlight there is for 200mm headlights like ours. Or get a retro from @LSC15 if you want the real deal.

That's a beautiful truck! One recommendation, look for some 01-04 mirrors as they're bigger. Other than that leave it alone

thank you, it's certainly been challenging to keep it looking decent in the environment its lived in for 2 decades.
i'll get back to you on the mirrors, the things they have seen!
is the chrome thing not a thing anymore

maybe it was somebody else's i saw recently that just repainted the top green i thought was sharp

Not really but it does work for the 95.5-97s for some reason. If I had yours I'd leave it alone minus the mirrors, but I'd try and find some chrome ones since it works (not sure if they make chrome 01-04 mirrors)

I've done a mod or two
Toyota lights are ground side switched. The lights are expecting two positives and a single ground. But instead you have two grounds and a single positive. That's what that relay harness he linked is for

Interesting, would a variation of this cause my headlights to be on regardless if I have them turned off on the stalk?

My truck was in a low speed front end collision before I bought it and I bet the place who did the repairs (both headlights included) wouldn’t have known/cared about something like this.

I never ended up putting the nut on that "hell bolt" haha, just left it off. Snorkel still holds on nice and tight so I haven't felt compelled to try it.

I have ratcheting wrenches with swivel heads but I couldn't get one on there, it's an extremely tight fit high up inside the fender.

Although I was cleaning the inside of my door jambs the other day and noticed I could see the bolt pretty clearly with the door open from inside, with an extension I might be able to get to it that way.

If you have small hands/arms you could probably get to it by reaching up from under the fender using your fingers to thread it on

Couldn't bring yourself to drill/rivet the a-pillar huh? haha I don't blame you on that either, I riveted mine but it's definitely a commitment once you punch holes in the a-pillar.

I know a few guys used heavy duty tape on theirs in the ebay thread, I would just worry about the outdoor elements eventually weakening it and causing it to come loose/wobble around on the highway or something.

Removing the bottom fender bolt helps as well. Will give you a bit more room as the fender will be able to pull away toward you (slightly!).
