Someone gave my Taco a "nice" mod last week while I was at my local hobby shop.
I had parked next to a newer Tundra that needed 2 spaces. Estimates have been at least $1200. The scratch is pretty deep.

Might be a good place for a sticker. Maybe one of the heritage stripe things.

Bummer. when I park next to someone like that, or someone who is parked diagonally in a spot and encroaching onto "my" space, I try to take a picture of their license plate. Not always easy to predict who is an asshole though. Shitty. Maybe look for some cameras outside and ask the business if they might help you out with a plate number or something.

What is it with these guys with Tundras parking like they do? I saw a cement Tundra at Walmart the other day taking up 4 spaces fairly close to the entrance. If your gonna do that stuff drive something else to Walmart or park it out away from everyone else.
Sorry to see your truck get damaged like that. You maybe able to rub most of that out with compound and a buffer. Id go that route first.

A plate number is worthless without video evidence of the vehicle's owner actually committing the act of vandalism.

I am aware. I meant getting the act AND license on footage. Longshot and unlikely. But still worth a try to look for a camera.

I would try buffing that out as best you can and see how it looks. I bet it was a key and someone was jealous of your nice truck..

I agree, I don’t understand why people get big ass trucks and act like they need more room on the road and in parking lots. If you don’t know how to drive or park the damn thing, you shouldn’t have got it!

I would check your comprehensive deductible and check with your insurance agent. In CA we typically would have this covered by comprehensive coverage.

I always park way out at the end of the parking lot, where there's nobody but me. Until I come out and find some asshat parked next to me. I just hope at that point they are having a decent day and leave my junk alone.

Go drive it off road and get some more scratches to obscure that one.

Not a bad idea...a mountain sticker above the Tacoma would look nice.

Your first stop should be a dual action polisher. I got an earlier (apparently more expensive) version of this thing: Watch a few videos on YouTube and be prepared to be amazed. I was able to fix up a rental that my wife dinged in a parking lot. Yes, she did stay to talk to the person that she bumped.

I also took a bunch of pinstripes off the Taco last year as well as fixing the paint on my wifes car.

Yea someone keyed my prior Tacoma and they said I'd have to pay the deductible but my rates wouldn't go up. I had a $1k deductible so I just didn't bother to fix it and eventually traded it in and upgraded to my current Taco.
