I've found the tent I want, its a smittybilt overlander I found online, but only seen the option of getting bed racks and putting in on top of the bed. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to put said tent on top of the cab. I have the double cab with the 6ft bed.

My RTT is on the roof of my cab, besides being super tall and a bit higher cog it's not too bad.

I had posted a similar question in 2nd Gen earlier in the week. I have a BAKFlip and really don't want to give it up for the handful of times I'd want to use the tent. I'm thinking I might go Napier or Kodiak truck bed tent and keep my BFlip & the Prinsu roof rack available for cargo (as it was intended...haha).

For what it’s worth I debated the roof rack as well but decided on two 14” raised bed bars from 4XInnovations that way I could save a little bit of gas mileage, still use the review mirror, and have quite a bit of storage space.

Put it over the bed. Your truck will be much happier and ride much better. These things can’t sit on the OEM roof rack. Buy some cheap bed bars and throw it over the bed or make your own.
