I’m diagnosing an AC failure. I just put in some dye, and refrigerate in and going to run it a few days. Going mañana to get a relay. If the relay and dye doesn’t indicate anything. I would be looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance. 2012 Tacoma Prerunner, 6 cyc, no 4Wd, quad cab. If that helps.

Not really, as the AC systems are the same across all models, at least in a given year.

Does the green light on your AC control flash?

While the dye is good for external leaks you need a sniffer for the evap in the cab.

How many miles on the truck?

Just went over 100k for the miles Bill, I was thinking of replacing the BWD relay. Haven’t gotten around to checking if it’s bad. But they cheap so just might buy one and throw it in there. I added the leak detector and topped off with R123A and it’s sitting around 60° now with 99° temperature. That’s fine with me. But I know it used to be colder. Still waiting to see if I see any leaks from the dye. Only second day running it.
