Lower one by the rack. Was my fault. Never put the compression clamp back on during the lca install.

 

Bummer @Digiratus are the shafts pitted and tearing up the seals?

 

Near as I can tell, the shafts are still in good shape. I'm going to clean everything up and get some good light on them to get a better look.

Is possible. Might be time to redo/rethink the entire rear anyway, including a new set of leafs. Been thinking about it.

 

Can't hurt! Get some 2.5s at least..mine rears were hot at the top of eagle Creek.

Looks like lots of fun.

Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more dificult to get away from cell service.

And it was likely the 15 miles of maximum abuse coming back up from the Salmon river (1000') to the ridge top (5000') on Eagle Creek Rd. So much fun.

 

This was very much an ADS test for Dan. I'm guessing he would say he was just proving to himself that he could keep up with what Monte was laying down. I was impressed.

I seriously pushed the redhead to stay in touch with them. Was able to for the first 90% of the trail but let up a little at that point. I was obviously abusing her.

edit: I saw your post about mileage on the guac. I am reading 190,409 ATM.

 

LOL. That road wasn't that bad. Guess you're glad you didn't do it twice!

You want to rebuild these or are you getting new? If you're rebuilding, I'm happy to watch/help.

What accessories work with that system?

You mean the L-track? I think people mostly use different size rings, but there are a bunch of fittings. Not sure myself, since I've always had an RTT back there, which is why I never had the L-track to start.

But lots of requests for it, so I finally updated my process to be able to build it in as an option. Surprising actually how much more work it is than the basic rack.

 

Eh was fun. Any time with campfire alone ish is fun. Devin's last camp night in Montana for the summer. Had to improvise due to the steering going out too.

Pssshh I pulled away from him still. If I wanted. I REALLY need better rear setup. Then he wouldn't stand a chance

That said I had a good laugh thinking about us bombing up that road and Dan the guy who used to go so slow and careful is right there with us hahahahaha much has changed in two years haha

Not surprised on more work. It's the little things like that that add up big time.

It was an interesting 45 minutes for sure. I was definitely torn as we ripped up that road (for a second time).

One the one hand:

• I was right between 2nd and 3rd gears - my tendency generally is to favor the higher gears because they are more efficient, but of course every time I changed into 3rd, I lost power and slowed down. Truck is too heavy!
• Slower is cheaper. I'm OK going a bit slower and not breaking stuff for longer.
• As strange as it sounds, I was wondering how our dozen eggs were doing in the fridge. Turns out, they were all fine. hahahhaha

On the other hand:

• Was fun trying to keep up. I could see you wondering how far I'd push it and I figured that if I was going to embrace the speed, that was a good road to do it on - not too many whoops, huge rocks to really screw things up, etc.
• I was wondering if I could outrun Mike; I generally haven't in the past.

Not that it really matters at all beyond the fact that I think there were three guys having fun. My tendency is still slower - for me, it's more enjoyable. Plus, we didn't stop once for photos on the way up!

Q: is @MissBlackdawg used to that speed, or was she looking at you like you were a little crazy? @mrs.turbodb started up the hill her usual chatty self, but pretty soon she was quiet and just holding on.

I know we didn't get any photos but it wasnt a very photogenic spot anyways.

As for Devin. Very very used to the speed. Has to be. Remember her first trip was in Frank with long travel. Haha

 

And so it begins. The summer as a bachelor..sort of. Devin just left for Maine.

 

Are things ok?

 

Oh yeah fine. She just didn't get hired at Tippet. Decided she wanted to go home for the summer to just get away and make a lot more money. She can make way more money there than here. Then come back with a padded bank account and start freelancing guitar.

Still. Gonna be weird to be alone all summer ha Dad retires in July though so probably do some camping with him.
