My oldest son is a metallurgical engineer and his wife is a physicians assistant. They both worked their asses off and acquired a lot of school loan debt but they are both pretty much guaranteed jobs anywhere they go. My son was guaranteed a job before he graduated and has been head-hunted twice into better jobs. Bottom line is, a comfortable lifestyle doesn’t come cheap or easy. In my world there is no, something for nothing. I’m not a wealthy man by any means but my wife and I worked hard for what we have today and we’re proud of it.

To me, and this is old school I guess, the problem I see is the work ethic in a lot of younger people is shit. If you start a job, be it a decent job or a shit job, it is on you to at least put in some effort. We go through 20 somethings like Tnredneck goes through toilet paper. A young dude was fired last week for sleeping. He has a wife, a child and he also has a serious liver disease. None of that was important enough for him to stay awake at work. This kind of thing happens all the time where I work and it's really not a horrible paying job for the area.

The problem where I work is...They don’t fire enough people, good thing I’m not in HR.

I actually made a list one day (on the clock) of the people I could fire without the company missing a beat. I stopped at 50.

I concur. My stepson installs windshields for a living and on rainy days he asks if he can warehouse work and he learned that from me. I get my 8 hours no matter how when system stoppage occurs. Going home early is great but doesn’t pay my bills
