    Hi!

Very new to these kinds of forums, but thought I could find the best info. on the first truck I'll be buying!

I am checking out a 2013 White Dbl Cab short bed Tacoma SR5 Prerunner. It's got 72,000miles on it, looks to be in great shape, one owner, no accidents, and the asking price is $19,000. I was hoping to start at $17,000 and see what the owner said.

I'm also checking out a 2006 Black Dbl Cab Short bed with 63,000 miles on it...asking price $15,900...the paint looks to be a bit oxidized on the top of the truck.

My heart is saying that the white truck is the way to go.

If I go white I wanted to get a good paint job and change to black or dark green...any good suggestions how to do that? Also looking to get a solid cap for the bed! I have no idea where to start there either! This is my first rodeo.

Any and all suggestions help :)

    Welcome to TW!
I haven't kept up to date to know if those are good prices or not but from my experience it is best to wait for the right one to come along rather than to make one work. A quality paint job that is going to last is going to be expensive and may negate the savings of a good deal now. If you are sure on what colors you want you may be best off waiting for one of those before buying. No matter what you decide welcome to the forum!

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Both seem like pretty good deals on paper. As far as painting a white truck a dark color or anything other than white will be fairly expensive to get a good one. To do it right all the door jams, sills, under hood etc, etc would need to be done.

Welcome to TW! If you live in a state that gets cold for the winter then check that frame for rust.

I’d go for the 13 if it has good maintenance records like all TSBs done and regular service performed. That 06 would be more of a risk due to age. I mean that’s 7 more years of who knows what happened. The 06 may have the weeping timing cover problem, I think there was a motor mount issue and maybe head gasket issues. Good luck and welcome.
