Undercoat?

I am from Michigan and have a little rust under my truck. Was wondering if there are any places around Phoenix that will do undercoat / rust prevention?

 

I've got no specific examples in the valley to refer you to but any Autobody shop should be able to complete that task. Do you have any photos of the rust? Is it localized or wide spread? If it's localized you could save some change by striping it down to bare metal then rattle canning it with some steel-it or similar product.

 

It’s pretty widespread but nothing crazy. The worst of it seems to be near brakes and the diffs. But there are other minor rusty spots all over. My frame was replaced with the rust recall so at least I have that going for me.

 

I bought 3M coat shit in the can off ebay 3M part #03584 and a hazmat suit and did some areas under the exhaust and cab myself. Plus it made it quieter in the cab! It for sound deadening and rust protection. Clearly there are kinds that are more specific to what your needs are but it worked like a charm and install was FREE! Clean areas off your coating, cover up what doesn't need coating, lay down painters plastic, face shield, plastic suit for $10, gloves and your off! Let cure for about 24 hours and bam! Ill try and find some pics, this was about 8 months ago!

 

POR15 will neutralize rust but isn't UV safe so you have to paint over it

 

Wire brush and touch up paint rust areas, they coat with fluid film. Done and done.
