I have a stock '09 Tacoma 4cyl-5speed with 120,000k or about 75,000 miles. I think the struts are starting to go and would like to replace. I thought I remembered reading that the new gen. front suspension stuff was interchangeable and would raise the front end an inch. Is that true? I'm ok with stock height, but who couldn't use another inch? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm about 80% sure it's the struts. TIA Cheers, Dave

    That's not a rebuild. That's just struts.

Why do you think it's struts? What symptoms?

Since I have 215k miles on my struts and rear is kicking out on bumps, I bought 2018 pulled struts and shocks. One inch lift is what I hear.

Yup, swapping the struts (coils+shock) it'll give you about an inch in the front. Did it to my truck a couple weekends back w/ some 3rd gen assembled takeoffs. The leaf springs that I got as part of the deal were the same TSB leafs I already had on there, so I didn't bother swapping those as mine are still fairly new, so I now have a bit of a bro-lean. Planning on putting in an AAL eventually to get it sitting level again.

Yes, not really a rebuild. Over bumps it feels like the wheels are bouncing too much with a bit of noise and the steering wheel feels loose. I'm going to investigate further, I wanted to gather some info first. Thanks for the replies. There seams to be some third gen takeoffs showing up here for sale. Cheers, Dave
