My truck came with the TRD exhaust and I really haven't experienced any annoying drone either. I agree, it may be in our perception of drone. However if the OP is feeling a vibration there may be an issue.

I find it very loud on the highway, around town it's just fine. No vibration that I am aware of.

I finally got around to replacing the gasket at the joint, properly torquing the bolts, and tilting the tip up as much as possible. It’s certainly made an improvement! I’m thinking I was getting some leakage occurring at the exhaust joint.

Did it come with black chrome tip? I called them for a model 140140 and it wasn’t an option

Not near the truck this evening otherwise I would. It's a very nice black chrome, similar to the of the TRD black chrome from Toyota. Quick google search and saw this picture, it looks just like it (a shiny deep black).

Ya I've seen that but just couldn't tell how it actually looks compared to a picture. But your explanation helps. That's what I'm looking for as i don't want just a flat black. Whats your thoughts on it since you've had it on for a little bit? Is it worth it? Would you still have bought it if it was a bit more expensive? Its 850 here and tats the best sale price I've ever seen. a few places are at 1000

The sound is great and as previously mentioned a bit louder than the factory TRD Pro exhaust. If you're looking for more power, it won't provide anything more than maybe 1-2HP. But it looks good and sounds good. Not the least expensive exhaust option out there, but it's your money and your truck!

ya i talked to a few guys and they really recommend Borla. And compared to a couple other brands are very similar in prce and even cheaper then a couple that werent as highly talked of. Just trying to decide if its worth the 850 but i know i probobly wont find it cheaper

Had mine on a month or so, didn't replace the gasket, no drone, nice deep tone, very pleased with it.
