Fair enough. I’m in no hurry and have some remodel projects at the house going anyways so no rush.

With the push button system I assume there is no jshifter? Do I just engage the 4wd by pushing the button or is it both? I definitely don’t want to Mickey Mouse the thing together so I will want it to be right. Working correctly and safely. My family will be relying on this to get them around reliably.

So I was rereading this whole thread and saw where someone mentioned I would need a transmission from a 2003 or 2004 since I have a 2003. Is that correct or does that only apply if I do the ADD push button version?

2003/2004 trans are unique. They do not cross over with 4Runner so you have to get specific in finding one or get the parts to convert your 2WD trans to 4WD. (Output shaft, nose cone & mount)
