Have been doing some searching and reading and am seeing almost too much info to process, so asking straight up may be best. Needing to confirm something before my 64 y/o father drops $ on wheels/tires for his Taco.

Truck needs to remain otherwise unmodified, aside from possibly trimming/removing splash guards. No caliper grinding. No pinch-weld bashing. No CMC hacking.

He wants bigger A/T tires, so I have steered him towards the 265/75R16 Falken Wildpeak AT3W for his stockers.

When the possibility of wheels comes into play, that's where I get hinky about advising him on a truck I don't know much about.

I've narrowed his choices down to the following combinations of Vector & Wildpeak:

    16x8 +1 (4.5" BS) & 265/75R16
-Will these fit/perform with zero modification?

    17x8.5 +7 (5" BS) & 265/70R17
-Will these be tucked in too far and rub the UCA or?

    17x8.5 -6 (4.5" BS) & 265/70R17
-Is this the optimal setup he needs to impress hot grandmothers?

Any other issues that may arise from any of those combos?

Thanks in advance. Enjoy a pic of my Chevy.

    stop buying Wild Peaks dammit.

you all keep buying them and driving the prices way up for those of us waiting to order! haha

but seriously, just go 265/75/16s on stock wheels and call it a day.... you start pushing the wheel out w/ a negative offset is when you'll start having to trim plastic pieces / rubbing

A 275 is a pretty big tire for a stock truck

I ran a 17x9 -12 offset Fuel Beast wheel with 265/70/17 Toyo AT2's when I first got my truck. I noticed compressing the suspension and turning would cause a slight rub without any trimming and with mud flaps still on. I say 17x8.5 -6 is what I'd go with. I don't think it would rub and if it did it would be very minimal just remove front air dam and mud flaps and you should be good. I only noticed rubbing once or twice and never checked it as I lifted it and went to 285's soon after..

With first option, you will have virtually no rub ever.

3rd option will rub here and there. But I think will look the best.
