Tweels / Uptis....what do you guys think?

Just saw this on Jalopnik, wondering what the TW take is....or is it too soon to tell haha

Looks pretty cool if they can make it functional. I’ve seen these on pictures of military vehicles but never on passenger cars.

I’m on board. I’ve seen these on construction equipment and they appear to work great. Not sure how they’d do off road but I’m intrigued.

Expensive is probably a good call....they’d have to be above and beyond the functionality of regular tires for me to consider them the more I think about it.

 

The equivalent tires for UTVs are like $700 a piece right now. Wonder how that will scale up for passenger cars.

 

Yikes, they’d have to last 150k miles for me to pull the trigger then

 

I see broken aluminum wheels in the future...
But it's a good concept

 

Silicone should last the life of the vehicle.


Now that so many tires are coming from overseas I say go for it.

 

They get out of balance easily when used in a muddy environment.
