Hey Everyone, has anyone put the black textured rear bumper end caps on a MGM Taco? I tried to find used ones in MGM, but no go...

I’m having my set I bought painted this week. I got the ready to paint set. Black is cool, but I like the MGM ones much better. Some people have done textured though on our color trucks.

Thanks... I was trying to avoid the extra expense of painting and worrying if it'll match...

Yeah it does cost extra money but it will be worth it in the end for me. The matching part is minimal issue since it’s not even technically attached to the body which helps with looking good. The place I took it to brought out multiple paint cards to compare and find the best color that will match.

If you're going to have them painted anyway why not save themoney on buying new covers and paint over the chrome ones?

Well, the issue is that mine are MGM now but I have some damage on the right side and the other has some minor scratches. So I thought now that the right side is damaged, may as well replace both.

It would cost more to have the shop prep them and it could be an issue with pint adhesion etc. Trust me I thought about doing that. I got a good deal on mine so it wasn’t a hinge hassle. Dropped them off today.

i have chrome ones and i hate the way it looks, i was told by the local paint shop that paint wont adhere to the fake chrome on plastic BUT that they could be wrapped in vinyl pretty cheap.

That’s what I am saying. It would be more of a hassle to paint the chrome crap versus just buying a new set and having them painted.

I plasti-dipped my chrome ones black......piece of cake. Possibly then paint them MGM?? I plasti-dipped my black grill white and then painted it Super white with no issues either. Plasti-dipped the chrome grill surround black, too.

I couldn’t find any 1G3 for some reason when I’ve looked. Either way mine are getting painted so I will just use those.
