Would this activity be considered distractive driving? Wave on my friend. Wave on.

I drove a jeep for 8 years and the wave thing was annoying most of the time.

Other vehicle waves tend to be for ones in more of a niche markets of enthusiasts.

Like low-ish production, higher dollar, collector status or specialty models.

Tacomas don't fit any of those.

Remember, 90+% of actual Tacoma owners are not on this forum. They just bought the truck, they are not enthusiasts.

Don't think it's weird to wave at all, The Jeeps, Subarus, Bikes, Mini coopers, 4runners and Tacos have waves because it seems like those vehicles usually have more of a community built around them. Yes, sometimes it's strictly "I want a reliable truck to drive around" But often I'll see built Tacoma's/4runner's and we'll wave, don't over think it.

Gotta say generally my interactions with people have been better the further south.

I think most Tacoma owners are Tacoma enthusiasts until they join this forum. These they start micro-analyzing their truck until they hate it and sell it.

Used to have a 99 Cherokee and soon learned about the wave. After I got the Tacoma, I didn't think it would be a thing. Sure enough, within the first month or two someone drove past me waving and I'd feel like a dick not to acknowledge them. I'll do a subtle nod or wave if it's built up a bit.

I don't think it's weird at all, who cares. Wave on!
