I used to valet park cars and this one girl that worked there was about 4'6" and never put seats back, so I would pull cars around for people and barely be able to fit because I tried not to fuck with seats, and people would get mad that the seat was forward. Pretty hilarious looking back.

Its simple customer service. If I bring my car in for a tire rotate and oil change, you dont need to adjust everything in my car to your liking for a 5 minutes you will spend in it. Drive the car in and do the service, dont make my car your home.

I mean… Mayyybe it's frustrating? But I'd rather them move the seat than back my truck into something. Especially since mine's a stickshift. They could at least put the auto headlights back on though.

For manuals it makes more sense, but for autos?

I've driven a number of cars I didn't own with seats in extreme positions. It's perfectly doable for a short period of time.

    ...too much shit to list.

But on the other hand being able to see out of the mirrors properly is a safety issue. I could give two shits if someone else driving my truck adjust things so they don’t run over a kid or sideswipe another vehicle.

Nope, still don't want. Its way faster for me to reach down grab the lever and slide the seat back and get in. Seriously, I do this to almost every vehicle I get in. I hate my wifes power seats, I have to bend down and wait for what seems like forever in comparison to the quick lever grab and slide back.

Not sure how many kids I have walking the back lot of my local dealership....

If the tech is doing a extended road test, sure adjust it, but put it back. I watch my dash cam of the techs doing road tests on my truck, they are far from careful when driving it... mash the gas pedal, slam on the brakes, turn without signals, they are some of the worst drivers because they want to get back to the shop to get paid.

I never said techs were good drivers. Merely explaining why I don’t care if things get adjusted.

Seriously this thread is the definition of entitled third gen first world problems.

The seat and mirrors are no big deal. Just as long as they put something on the seats to keep them clean.

I’m 6’7 so I completely understand if the seat has to be moved.

Would you rather they back your truck into a car in the parking lot or shop because they can’t see??
How do you put the mirrors and seat back to someone else’s preferences, tape measure??

I was paying my service bill at 5pm when all the techs were clocking out and 1 guy was shorter than 5 foot, guess which one did my car, lol. Never knew the seat went that far forward, had to sit sideways to move it back.

I am a certified auto body tech and mechanic. I can work on my own, but while under warranty I will let them do it for free.

    I have a backup camera?

I spent 12 years as a tech and 6 as a service advisor, its not that hard to move your head alittle bit to see out the mirrors.

nada....maybe a license plate one day & BA bumpers
after 315k miles, I have never taken my taco to a dealership or shop
so I have never had this issue

did my 67th oil change in my garage yesterday, & the drivers seat never moved!

although recently my daughter started permit driving & she is 6" shorter than me
so I do need to adjust the seat (I often do this after I get in & realize that the seat position is way off)
& I feel ya in that regard....watch them knees!
    :)

I guess. That explains the step stool in the garage area.
