I wish it wasn't weird to wave at other 3rd Gen owners(NC/SC spotted thread)

I had a Jeep and the jeep wave is a thing for mall crawlers. My jeep was far from a mall crawler and on the pavement I NEVER waved. If people waved at me on the pavement I never saw it, but then I wasn't looking either. Occasionally I might be caught admiring a well built jeep, to that guy I'd give a slight head nod. Off-road I wave at everyone, jeep, ATV, motorcycle, and even Toyotas. There we all share a common hobby.

Waving at random people on the road is just fucking weird. If someone did that to me I'd be wondering WFT, is something wrong, do I know them, why are they distracting me from driving? And, if you're waving from a shitbox commuter car, just don't.

 

The wave, lol. I have a neighbour 2 blocks over ..we have identical Tacoma's .... year, model, levelled, tires on stock wheels...He refuses to even make eye contact... I think we pass each other in opposite directions 1-2 times a day. He just has that terminator look like he really needs to get home and take a shit or see whats in the fridge.

I could see there being a 1st gen wave but 3rd gens are everywhere. I'm not waving to any of them.

 

Couldn't agree more, its a shame! Not as bad in Southern NJ where I'm at but when I travel about 30 mins to toms river its another world lol. You got people thinking they stars on Jersey Shore lmao. Brooklyn fades everywhere, fake italians, its hilarious!

If I waved at every Tacoma I see on the road, my arm would be hurting by the time i reach my destination since every other vehicle in Hawaii is a Tacoma.

 

Possibly, I haven't drove a jeep in years so I cant say if the current batch of jeepers (Barbie, mall crawler, Instagram crowd) wave as much as the past ones did.

I don't wave, but I might turn my head and check out the truck. I like looking at other Tacomas... checking out what the owners did to them, how they use them, mods, etc. I find it interesting.

I actually had another Taco flash his lights at me the other day (yes broad daylight).

 

I've never paid enough attention to see if other Tacoma drivers are waving at me, but I've noticed a few will drive beside me just far enough in front to make sure I can see their side bed stickers.

I'm guessing they saw I was in a lowly SR5 and wanted me to see they were driving a far more CooL superior truck.

I agree. I’m currently in the north and there’s a bunch of stone faced, hairy, sopranos stand-ins who don’t laugh at anything. The south is where it’s at.
