Looking for something to give a bit of protection from being bumped into that will go in the hitch. I’ve looked at the Smittybilt beaver tail, one from Gen-Y...anyone have one they absolutely love?

Make sure it's legal to drive around with something in your hitch where you live. For me, it's not other than a cover that does not excessively protrude. I got a fix-it ticket after dropping off a trailer because I forgot the key to my pin at home.

I will check about such laws in Virginia. It’s hard to tell what they allow. I do see quite a few people running receivers and ball without a trailer.
