    Installed some Total Chaos bed stiffener braces last night and all seemed to go well. Got to work this morning, and realized I’d broken a factory bolt...the left one at the top of the brace (see pic). When I was tightening it, I thought it was about to strip, so I stopped and backed it off a smidge. Apparently, the head of the bolt broke, which is what I thought was stripping, as that bolt head was rolling around in back of my truck this morning. How do I find the OEM part number for this so I can replace it? Thanks!

    I'd say take the one next to it off and head to Home Depot or the stealership.

    M8-1.00 or 1.25 is a solid guess. I broke mine also and had to drill it out and nut and bolt it.

    Stopped by the dealer this morning. Of course, they’re not in stock, but will be in tomorrow. A whopping $0.92 each :eek::D

    Lol I did the same thing, still haven't replaced it. But for a whopping $0.92 I guess I probably should.

    You should be able to remove the taillight and thread out the broken bit. Replace is with a nice grade 8 bolt and washer instead of that weak factory crap.

    If you really want to be certain, ask the parts department at your dealership.

    Looks to be p/n 90119-A0079. Technically any M6-1.00 bolt will work.

    FWIW, you can figure out just about any bolt on a Toyota based on the socket size it requires, since they use JIS.

    M5-0.80 = 8mm
    M6-1.00 = 10mm
    M8-1.25 = 12mm
    M10-1.25 = 14mm
    M12-1.25 = 17mm
    M14-1.50 = 19mm
    M16-1.50 = 22mm

    But when you get a bolt from the hardware store bins it likely follows the DIN metric standard. You need to watch thread pitch, Toyota JIS bolts fall in standard, fine and super fine DIN depending on the diameter. These will also use different sockets for M8 and larger.

    M8 = 13mm
    M10 = 15mm
    M12 = 17mm
    M14 = 19mm
    M16 = 22mm
