I'm trading in my 2016 Taco TRD O/R prem and tech for a 2019 4Runner TRD O/R prem. I had a 2013 Tacoma O/R access cab and after 3 years I traded it in for my 2016 Tacoma O/R D/C . I love Tacomas but with having a growing family my needs have changed. I have to say my biggest complaints about both Tacomas were the seats were just horrible. The 4 Runner seats are night and day different . So comfortable and adjustable ,basically the opposite of the Taco seats. The 4 Runner ride was like a cloud, and the tranny shifted nice and smooth. My 2013 Taco had a rumble on acceleration from starting to about 15mph. My 2016 Taco has the same feeling rumble but when slowing down from say 25 to 10 or so, that and constantly feeling like I was fighting the tranny. Both were great trucks and I loved the proven durability of the 4.0 from my 2013 I'm sad too not have my Taco anymore but I'll think I'll make do with with a 5x8 trailer and a hitch rack for any smaller items I dont want inside. Over all the 4 Runner ,although a little dated drove like a champ. That and now I'm going to have 2 sticks and a window that retracts into the tail gate.If your on the fence I've been a truck guy for the last 25 years and this 4Runner swayed me. Deep down I'll just think of it as a Tacoma underneath with a cap on the back.
