It's a 21 US gallon tank...fill it up and run it...should be enough to dilute the diesel. The cat converter may not like it though. I say this because that's what I would do...I've made a similar mistake in the past...I had no issues. Fill it again at half full.

Oh...I didn't realize you've pulled significant diesel through it.
    Will it run at all?

And yes, there is an anti-theft screen blocking you from siphoning it back out.

Kind of ways to maybe work around that too but again, not assured and may not be any easier than dropping tank.

On a bright note if you have help you can lift off the bed and access it.

I wish there were a panel to get to it anytime from in the bed.

She doesn't know yet if it will start again.
It might. If it would I'd dilute it and try.

If it fails and has to go to a shop I doubt it costs any more for them to drop than if it were empty but you would lose a tank of gas.

Are you a natural gambler or better left to spelling contests?

So if you filled it with gas you would be at about a 7:1 gas/diesel mixture. I wouldn’t take that chance. Drop the tank.

That doesn't sound like a good ratio.

It really does boil down to how lucky you are.

Some people really are good at craps, me, I never knew you could lose money so fast.

Problem here is she has fuel system lines that are essentially 50/50 gas-diesel. If it can fight through that, then the diluted fresh fuel should improve things. Only other thing is bleed the fuel system.
    Just my thoughts, Jeff

Tow it to the shop and have them clean it professionally. It'll be cheaper in the long run, IMO.

I don't have a lot of luck there either.

I have read that you can bypass the anti theft screen by rotating a small 1/4 " diameter rigid hose to get past it. Worth a shot and would save a ton of headache vs dropping the tank or removing the bed. I would not fill up with reg gas to dilute the diesel mix and drive it. You do not want diesel mix to make it through the engine for any extended time by driving it.

There is a frame mounted fuel line connector at the front of the tank to the hard lines that can be disconnected as a drain point, if you can jump the pump you can pump it out, though jumping the pump seems highly unlikely given the connector configuration.
