Is there a way to trick the inverter into working when the truck is not running, i.e. when I am sleeping in the bed and need to have a fan blowing.

I have dual batteries and a solar panel so I am not worried about draining the battery.

the Trucks inverter relay is probably triggered off a electrical circuit that has power only with the truck on. You could get a wireless switch module and run a fused constant 12v to the wireless switch positive and then the other end to the relay trigger. This would allow you to turn it off and on while being inside your tent and be able to turn it off and save your battery

Would it not be better to have a battery powered fan to be charged during day? Or a separate/dedicated inverter not part of the vehicle system? Vehicle inverter is tops 3.33 amps at 120v AC anyhow.
