LED lamps for 3rd brake light

The search function hasn't helped me.

I'm trying to find BRIGHT replacement LED lamps for my 3rd brake light. My Access Cab's 3rd brake light has, I believe, 3 #194 incandescent bulbs. Google has helped, but not a lot. There's plenty of LED replacements available, but which one?

Most seem to attempt to mimic incandescent lamps, shining light in all directions. I "think" a unidirectional lamp would work better in this application. That narrows the field down a lot, but still leaves a lot.

I've found a couple from Super Bright LEDs, and Diode Dynamics that seem to be good possibilitys.

I'm looking for recommendations. What has worked for you?

 

I went ahead and tried some replacement LEDs from Super Bright LEDs. The ones I chose to try are 194-NWHP5 natural white. When comparing them side by side to the 194 incandescent, without the red lens cover on, these LEDs do appear much brighter. But when I put the red lens cover on, they only appear slightly brighter. Hmm...

I can't really say that I'm terribly disappointed in them, but I do wish they were brighter. I may try some others...


I also got a LSC-100A Brake Strobe Module. Have not installed it yet. I want to have a new 3rd brake light gasket on hand before I tear the old one off.
