I do quick pumps. Releasing the pedal a little faster than normal to give it some momentum and then back in again so it doesn't rocket off. I can usually get backed up without gas this way. Might be hard to get it precisely on a log this way though, but less throttle and clutch burning.

It’s a little tricky. Not bad if your comfortable with a wrench.
Hardest part is the two front bolts.
I broke them loose with a wrench, used a 1/4 swivel and fingers to back em out.
The Core tower/shift assembly is taller then stock.
The Toyota rubber boot has a inner skirt that needs trimmed some.
    Its worth the effort

what can you purpose the 2 blank slots under ashtray for?
i don't have those in mine...
does that JVC screen fold back inside?
i was looking at getting some new tech like that but so far have not found one that I would not have to lose the nice little storage spot in that area

They'd be good spots for switches. The head unit is a double din DVD player, screen doesn't fold but it's detachable for security. Mine came with a CD/tape combo deck stock so I was already used to not having the pocket and the larger screen is nice.

Tube steps, bull bar and KC Hilites, trifold bed cover, variety of shifter knobs, comparing LED strip options, lift possibilities (prob 2 inch), and exhaust mods to tune growling on low end...
The truck rack that I ordered arrived this week. Prob this weekend I will throw the truck bed tent in and check out the clearance up top for adding a platform for the top "bunk tent". Thanks for the inspiration...

finally got to test drive a new Corolla Hatchback XSE (silver) today ... been waiting to do so for a couple months now
took it out on the highway and around a few city streets
has a ton of 'new-to-me' hi techery i am not familar with
salesguy (26yrs old) admitted he just learned to drive MT in the past year
nobody seems to want MT (in my area) so this car just sits on the lot lol
a new clutch sure feels a bit different than my well broken in 22yr old one

i wonder if there is a mod for the shifter, something more sporty looking, maybe TRD? the car did have a TRD air filter i think
    the heated seats were cozy....

@RedBeard1 was just saying good things about the MT hatch also.

Is that a lift ring to get it into reverse? I like those better than the push down on the top of the knob method, like VW. Overall, I like the spring set up in the Taco, but my wife doesn't.

I bet @7r41lbr34k3r could whip out a nice knob for that.

Our saab had a lift ring that was really subtle. Even telling folks it was there, they would get confused until we demonstrated it.

I had an 80 Scirroco, if memory serves me you just pushed down on the shifter and then into reverse.

Many years ago I had a job as a lot attendant at a big Chevy dealer where I was in charge of parking all the new and used vehicles. I remember reverse tripped me up in a couple cars that I had never driven previously - the Cavalier has a lift ring and I think most all VW's you push down.

Please keep us in the loop on utilizing the @7r41lbr34k3r knob with the core shifter. I have on of his shift knobs as well, and am interested in purchasing this SS. I was thinking either an adapter with the threads for Core on one end and threads for the knob on the other. Or a whole new core for my delrin knob with new threads matching the Core.

Yeah I’m striking out on a solution.
Think the Hurst stick is 3/8 16 thread, stock Tacoma is 12 x 1.25
Maybe someone else has a idea? Or @7r41lbr34k3r can be talked into making a adapter. Really want to get his knob back in my truck :anonymous: Never liked Hurst knobs or the lock nut they use.

    Mostly stuff I built.
Fun little car transmission felt great nice tight shift pattern. Plenty of power for a bone stock car. I bet an OVTune would really make some power on it though.

Hard to walk away from it. I hate to admit it have a weakness for pearl white. Have had few Toyota and Lexus cars in that color. Started to trailer the damn thing home.

i will have to go back and do another test drive in the fall, when the sun goes down sooner
the brochure says the headlights follow your turning, that has gotta be weird
do the new Tacoma's do that with the headlights?

Toyota should try to advertise their MT vehicles harder. Put them in their tv commercials, website front pages, instruct dealers to work harder to sell their MTs. Maybe try to reignite interest in MTs.

Toyota is going eclectic by 2025 last I heard, so MT death is inevitable :goingcrazy: Supra is a perfect example that nobody cares anymore. :(
The next Tacoma will not have MT option, that I can guaranteish 300%
