What brand is your 3rd brake light?

 

I traded in my 2010 Regular Cab today. It was reliable as the morning sun but not much fun to drive. After I bought my first Miata in 2014 I hardly ever drove it. Great shape mechanically but the New Mexico sun had blistered the clear coat off the hood & cab roof so it looked like shit.
When my wife's car was in the shop we had a RAV-4 for a loaner & she really liked it. We ended up getting the Mazda CX-5 AWD which I expect to be as reliable as any other Japanese car. Funny, the CX-5 is one of the few Japanese car still built in Japan. I guess I'll lurk for a while, but I don't see another truck in my future.

P.S. When I find the 5-lug styled steel wheels, the stock grill & some Toyota oil filters I'll post & anyone can pick them up for free. You'd be doing me a favor taking them off my hands.

 

Nah, when they pulled up the VIN it was there as a qualified truck, no letter needed.

Oh yeah, back before doing rr axle rebuild, baked me up some new headlights due to current ones starting to look like crap with clear peeling effect on inside of lens. Garaged parked so you know that set were cheap crap ones. Only there because retros were shaky on bumps. Anywhoo.....stole the black bezels with clear side marker, chrome parking bezel and super yellow blinker lens out of the projector set and used them in another depo halogen set I had with much clearer lenses. Scraped out all (most) old sealant and went back together with fresh morimoto seals. The retro projector set ended up with black bezels, black parking bezels, pale blinker lenses and 2nd best set of lenses which are OK. Also tightened up the projector to reflector bowls since one of those was bouncing on bigger bumps making them intolerable (plus don't like not having 55/60w brights when running 35w ballasts) Here's what I ended up with on the truck.........

If you are running a tire size that is relatively close to stock, then you can just follow the recommendations on the door jamb. If you are running undersized or oversized tires compared to stock, you should definitely find out what pressure you need to run them at.

The chalk test is simply drawing a line across your tire tread then going for a quick run up and down the street. When you get back you take a look at where the chalk has worn off. If there is still chalk on the outside edges of the tire, they are over inflated. If there is chalk on the inside and not much on the outside edges, they are under inflated. You want the chalk line to wear evenly. I find it easier to slightly over inflate and then bring the pressure down as I test.

This can be affected by many variables such as vehicle weight (front and back could be different), tire type, tire ply, etc.

Good example: My last set of tires were 305/70R16 M/T 127P E and I found they ran best at 29psi. I got 47k miles out of them, sold with 5/32 tread left on them.
