    Morning all
Did 25 years in a row, finally got called to federal, only once every other year. Felt it was my civic duty. The last time I told them it was someone else's turn, they agreed and haven't called since. I was on only 4 cases the whole time.
After Dad passed, mom stayed in the house for a few years, she fell and we decided to move her near me in a retirement home. My brother and I had no desire to move into the home or become landlords of a 100 year old house. It would have been good income but it would take a lot if upkeep.

    :pccoffee: Good Monday morning.

You have it right, no pressure and wolves loose their fear of humans. Mn. has more wolves than all the Western States combined. Lowest population ever has been is 1,000 there are well over 4K now and most of us feel that number is low. Not a lot of yotes wolves kill them and drive them off. And wolves come right into downtown Duluth and kill dogs. Some fat ass in Wa. DC put them under Federal protection a few years back so can't even shoot them to protect your dog without going to jail. SSS. Shoot, Shovel and Shutup. The protection has been challenged and is supposed to be lifted soon and hope it does. I have had wolves come within 40 yards of me to check me and the dog out.

Pack killed this deer less than 50 feet from a cabin I was staying in as I stood outside watching them. At -32°

I spent the night going out with the camera every hour or so to try and get pictures of them but the pack stayed in the woods about 15 yards away circling me snarling, they were not happy about having their meal interrupted. Wolves start eating at the stomach, fox and yotes start at the rear end.

See if I can get the spoiler to work some may find it disturbing what the midnight or so picture looked like

Moose will trample a camp and are huge long legged beasts. Cows with a calf will charge you. But with all the wolves there are fewer Moose each year.

Wolves are pushing south in Wisconsin. There are reports of them south of Madison. I still have Coyotes around here yet.

So bad here they closed Moose season a few years back. Good chance they will stop deer hunting this year on the North Shore of Superior as there almost no deer left.

Any time I see a moose it is usually running and a wolf will come out a couple of minutes behind it. And when ever find Moose droppings wolf scat is next to it, they are never far behind the Moose.

Yeah Wisconsin is second behind Mn. in wolf numbers at ~1,000 which is a quarter as many but still a lot. And both State counts are low IMO.

When Geoff Bodine won the Daytona 500 that was one of his prizes (minus the mods). I watched him have to come to almost a stop to cross the RR tracks in town with it. But between the tracks and everywhere else he wasn't afraid to put the skinny pedal down on it. Didn't have a stop light in town but did have a blinky yellow light at the main intersection.

    Good Morning All :hattip:

First real good night sleep in over 3 weeks.
Gota get blood pressure check and go to the bank.
Back to work later. My body is ready. My mind is not.:fingerscrossed:

I agree. The SSS I hear alot when we go up north. Every now and then a wolf is sighted in the area. In spring its bears looking for new territory. Last year lots of sightings of a cougar moving through. Coyotes are getting to brave. Had one walk 10 feet from dog pen, on a Saturday morning, dogs were going nuts.
    That's nature.

years ago yes. Homemade pasties are my only option being gluten free. Its a pain in the ass and takes all day but I usually make a dozen or so to freeze and enjoy for a few months

it's one of my favorite spots to explore. Come to MT, I'll take you guys up there. Still closed and under a few feet of snow I imagine but it will open up in early July.
More from further down the road - Black Butte in the background. Sadly a lightning strike started a fire up there shortly after I took this shot last year. It burned the area in the foreground and to the left of the frame..
