hey guys, my air intake hose has a tear on it and its causing my truck to lose power when accelerating. So, I went to autozone and bought a new one but it would not fit my truck. Everything was fine accept for one hole where one of the hoses coming from the engine would hook too. Ive gone to other auto parts stores and the employees have told me that they have had other customers come in with the same issue as me. The truck was bought preowned so I dont know if the previous owner used a different hose, but ive had this truck roughly 7 years now and only noticed this now. Thanks

“air intake hose has a tear on it”, duct tape? They also make aluminum-ized tape for more extreme environments.

Did you get the right hose for the right year/drivetrain of your truck? There could have been slight changes to the vacuum lines throughout the years, I wouldn't necessarily trust a parts store employee to know the difference.

Don't just tape it, the intake hose is easy and cheap to replace if you pick up the right part.

So my truck is a 2003 and the one i found in store and online are exactly the same. But compared to the one I currently have, there is a slight difference in one of the hoses. It seems like other owners who had the same year has me have had the same issue but I have not found the right hose yet

Figured it out. So i guess they changed the vacuum lines and the one i had was an older one, so all i needed to do was remove the hose and replace it with one that would fit. Thanks for the help though, I appreciate the quick responses.
