    Thanks man!

My jeep was much more of a crawler build than tacoma. That's actually why I sold the jeep and got the truck. I don't enjoy the rock crawling as much as I do exploring trails and running fast across the whoops. I thought about doing fiberglass fenders and long travel from the start but the DK kit adds 3.5 inches of track width to each side. Here in the south east that could keep me from running some trails. So for now I'm pretty happy with the build. Maybe if we move out to Utah I'll build it into a full long travel beast.

Tho we didn't get the promised snow here in town, the mountains to the northeast had enough to go play in!

Got a few upgrades installed this evening from some great TacomaWorld vendors!

From @docloco I got my Molle behind the seat storage installed. Fits absolutely perfect. Unfortunately this darn arctic wind and no garage means it's way too cold to install the sound deadening.

And I was able to install my new @mesojdm dual color LED map lights and white dome lights! They are crazy bright!

Another small update on the truck! I added the Mountain Hatch tailgate insert last night! It gives a really nice smooth surface to work from and sit on when the tailgate is down. It’s basically a cutting board, but is routed and cut perfectly! Really excited to give it a try. Of course, it has to stop raining first....

    It's update time!
A few little changes over the last week in preparation for the new GFC camper. First I removed the old bed rails and installed the KB Voodoo aluminum ones. I'm not sure I used enough silicone, and they didn't come with enough tape so I may have to pull them back off eventually. The biggest reason is because the GFC will sit lower with them installed, and should be able to seal up a little better.

    Before:
    IMG-0782.jpg

    IMG-0771.jpg

A little aluminium tape to help seal up the holes.

    IMG-0775.jpg

    After:

    IMG-0780.jpg

You'll also notice the bed rack and tent is off! The rack is for sale, but the tent will be kept around. Probably going to through it on my Jeep Cherokee.

Lastly I put some new brakes on last night. My rotors were a little warped after Utah, so I decided to just upgrade instead of getting them turned. I went with these:

Power Stop K137 Front Z23 Evolution Brake Kit with Drilled/Slotted Rotors and Ceramic Brake Pads

    91iDw1OL4-L._SL1500_.jpg

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005FKS28C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Review's were good, and the install was easy. They came with new pins, new clips and everything I needed. No complaints at all. Now that the truck doesn't shutter under braking, I've got to figure out where my remaining vibrations are coming from. Could just be the tires, could be something else. It's very minor but it's always better to address concerns before they become a major problem!

Fantastic job on the restoration! I did that myself to an old Audi S4 that I had wrecked, and insurance wanted to total.

Those inferno 2nd gens sure are nice looking trucks

Well, as a few of you know I'm leaving shortly to drive 2k miles from Tennessee to Bozeman Montanan to get my GFC Camper! I've been trying to knock a few things off my todo list before the trip. This weekend I was able to change the front, rear and transfer case diff fluids. The front and transfer case looked fine, but the rear had some water in it. Definitely need relocate the breather tube before I forge any more streams.

I also cut the top off my XM / GPS antenna. Due to my KB Voodoo bedside rails the GFC sits about 3/4 of an inch lower. I used a little moldable plastic JB Weld and covered the top. It's not pretty, but with a little sanding and paint it works fine. Plus it's covered by the GFC. Maybe sometime I'll add a little bondo to make it look better.

    antenna.jpg

I also tossed a new set of Bosch wipers on, as well as both cabin and regular air filters. We are getting close to being ready to roll! I want to do a quick chalk test if it will ever stop raining!

I'm leaving out Wednesday morning at around 5 am, driving north to pick up @6spdshift who was crazy enough to volunteer to be my co-driver on this crazy adventure. We'll have plenty of pics and maybe even a vlog of our little 4k mile trip.

Worked on a new project this weekend. It’s not done yet, but it’s a start. I’ve got some hinges on order, the same style that GFC uses. I’ve obviously got to paint the vent where the Goal Zero Battery is, and still have a switch panel to install.

In Chattanooga. I just relocated up to the Chattanooga area a few months back for a job. Saw another inferno pro the week before around market street.

Nice! Welcome to our little town! We should meet up for a drink some time!

Yep, there is another Inferno Pro that parks on market. I’ve never had a chance to run into the owner

    Small update:

I've had a bit of a pop in the front end of the truck when I'm turning and reversing. I couldn't make it happen every time, but most morning when I was backing out of my parking spot, I'd cut the wheel and hear a loud pop. Nothing was loose, so I wasn't sure what was going on.
A couple weeks ago I got my alignment done, (yay for lifetime alignments), and I was told my inner tie rods where needing to be replaced soon. As I've put 35k hard miles on this truck with a ton of off-road and larger tires, this wasn't surprising. I went ahead and ordered inner and outer tie rods.
After replacing them both this weekend my pop seems to have gone away. I do have a traction control light on now, but I think I can fix that with the VSC reset.
Also took the time to replace my UCA boots since somehow I ripped both.

As for recent trips, we recently got back from a 3400 mile trip to the UP and Canada. I've got a bunch of the videos editing, but haven't posted the trip report yet. I'll try and get that done before Christmas. Until there, here are the first few videos:
