The Beer Nerd - what are you drinking / brewing thread

Think this is the last one @uhplifted sent me. Out with the dog in the back yard and took a decent sip not paying attention and was caught off guard by the high IBU. Good stuff, I hate the trendy low IBU beers I’ve been getting lately.

After a hard days work

 

Back down to Atlanta to hang out with my sister and her boyfriend this past weekend. We went down to Three Taverns for the Tropical Luxure release for my girlfriend. It’s a passion fruit, pineapple, and mango sour and was actually pretty decent (for a sour haha)! Luckily for me, they also tapped some 2018 Helms Deep, a BBA stout.

After there, we had lunch and more beer at Argosy. They had some Torched Hops Scars Remain Double Vanilla BBA stout on tap that was phenomenal! Hung out there for a while and walked around East Atlanta Village.

Ended up at Torched Hop (one of the top 3 brew pubs in Atl) for dinner. Lo and behold, they had just tapped the Mexican variant of Scars Remain, a stout rested for 24 months in 5 hour old 4 Roses barrels and then conditioned on vanilla, ancho chilies, and cocoa nibs for the last month... It did not disappoint!

The food was excellent as always, but that beer really made my dinner and entire day. I really hope they can or bottle some of this in the future!

 

Pretty good

 

Decided to pop the top on one of my bottles of Mexican Cake this evening. This would be a great stout on its own, but the added habaneros add a nice touch of heat to the finish that cut the sweetness just right.

Met the girls up after yoga for burritos and got a Stone Enjoy By 7/4. Pretty good. Think I saw this one is a 9.4 unfiltered DIPA.

 

If I see that, I’ll for sure give it a go!

I saw they had another collab, forgot what it was tho, think a stout?

 

I’m actually not all that familiar with Westbrook as I’ve just recently discovered them but after a short search it looks like they have a sour with Angry Chair and a few months back they did a cherry stout with 3 Sons Brewing. Both appear to be out of Florida.

 

They did several Biscotti Cake Break variants...

EDIT - Actually it looks like they’ve collaborated a lot. Lots of Biscotti/Churro Cake Break variants and a few sours as well.

Drank 7 of these yesterday.Almost finished two 4 packs.Decided to cook myself dinner and pass on having the 8th.
