I want a 2018 TRD Pro grill, but can’t get one. Any suggestions?

All plastic turns to shit, including the bumpers, doesn't matter which country it's from.

I'm a fan of changing plastic to powder coated steel and aluminum.

    Look at the price tag?

    Sorry, just couldn't resist.

I think one of the tells is the color; knockoff's are a darker black and OEM's are more of a matte black? At least that's what I think the situation is. I'll let you know when my OEM arrives Monday.

Does this work? Has anyone tried it on a 2018 non-TRD taco? Why is it color coded if there's no color on the diagrams or online pics?

Thinking about 53101-04050-C0 as 'black' to match magnetic grey on a non-trd taco. Not sure why they would limit one variant but not the full assembly??

Does the garnish come with the 2018 grill if ordered from Toyota? I can get one for under $200. Parts guy is unsure if the garnish comes with the grill.

    None yet...
Well I bought a “cheap” eBay one for around 120 bucks, I plan on using my Off Road truck like it’s intended to be used. So I’d rather not have 400 dollars taped to the front of my truck. But if your into the pavement princess Instagram look then I understand...

For $200 I get OEM part or the fake grill $130 plus $50 for the garnish cover. I'm concerned about the finish and the letters falling off. Also the fitment, some have issues with gaps or brittle clips. Pavement princess or not I use my truck as a truck but I also care for it both mechanically and cosmetically. I understand people don't want to put a hockey puck lift on a $40K truck, same here for a fake grill that might have issues down the road.

I know this may be too late of a post to respond to, but if you haven’t got one, it is possible.

I recently called all the Toyota Dealer around my area, and a few of them has the ‘18 grill without the insert(bought seperately) $259.00 and insert $72. They WILL sell you the grill if they have it in stock or on shelves, otherwise if they have to order it, Toyota Part will stop the order, not the dealership that will stop it.

So I just went to the nearest one which was 80mi from home and bout it with the insert. A total of $330 plus my $50 gas. But still way better than buying the $499 (16-17) and buying the insert $59(if you get it from eBay).

Anyways whatever you end up with, hope you’re happy with it.

I will just get one from my dealership. He can have it in one day. I have talked to my friend at the dealership about this vin number and all the issues people have claimed to have run into when getting an OEM grill. I was told its not an issue, and they can get the grill from the warehouse and have it the next day like they did my TRD Pro wheels. I'm in no hurry to do any mods, I like to think things out before jumping right into it. I assure you that it will be an OEM grill!

Only complaint of the Pro grille is that it pokes out. It would be slick if it was slightly inverted. Sorta how the new Mazda grilles are.

This really doesn't bother me. I think it balances out the "chin" bumper

    ^^^ this!

If Toyota wants to play games, let them. The Chinese knockoff costs 1/3 and only you will know it is not the real deal.

Toyota and dealers want to keep the TRD Pro party going for as long as they can.
