Found that one of the manifold bolts was loose. I'm hoping that is all my exhaust leak was.

Pulled my grill to access the winch solenoid and opened it up. Initially it only clicked but then randomly started working again. Not sure what the issue was. Likely won't until it happens again. Making a mental note to not rely on it to get me out of any situations.

Also tried to fit the air/water radiator I have and it's just not going to fit with the winch solenoid box where it is. Going to order a 7x26 one that should fit perfectly in the grill. Maybe get some expanded steel and do a Satoshi at the same time to protect the radiator as well.

Do you try to use the winch every month or so at least? I realized a long time ago that electronic actuators and solenoids typically go bad from lack of use. Part of why I try to give my add actuator, t case actuator, rear e locker and winch solenoid some use at least once, if not twice a month.

I don't but it wasn't terribly long ago that I pulled the rope and washed it then pulled the gears apart and regreased it. I wouldn't be surprised if the solenoid is going bad. Not sure what Engo was thinking with the design of the box, it's far from water resistant.

When mine started clicking, I found a couple of burned contacts inside of the contractor. I cleaned them up and reassembled but it wasn't a permanent fix. Worked for a while but then started clicking again not too long after.

I ended up having to replace the contractor. My Amazon purchase history says this is the one I bought:

I probably should have pulled that apart and checked but didn't. That looks to be identical to the one I have. I was just going to get in contact with Engo about a new one and get another controller since I used the plug and wires for the in cab control.

It looked identical to the one that my smittybilt h20 10k came with. It also looked identical to the one in my friends warn. It might be that a lot of winches use this or this type of contractor. :notsure:

Anyway, mine is still going strong after 3 seasons so I'm happy.

I'm impressed by this. One of my exhaust manifold bolts has the ability to turn itself 3/4 of a turn in 20 miles. Not too sure what to do about this...

Seeing @Squeaky Penguin recent debacle reminded me that my motor might not be far behind. My latest oil sample was higher in iron than the previous. Brett, I wonder if yours could have been foreseeable had you taken a few samples. I'm still not sold on them but with the addition of the turbo a clean sample gives peace of mind, but for a not so good one it adds some stress.

I just did the timing belt on my T100. The old belt had cracks half way through it! I'm hoping it gained some power back but I can't really tell since it's packed to the brim with my belongings for a move to Idaho in August. I really don't have anything to base what a healthy auto 3.4 should feel like though. T100 springs handle weight much better than a Tacoma. One nice thing about torsion bars is that I can easily lower the front to match the rear. Need to change the oil and hopefully it ready for the 15 hour trip.

Started to dive into the abs delete on the Tacoma only to realize that I need an additional T if I'm to retain the LSPV. Though after attempting The Wall on Spring Creek this past weekend I'm not sure I even want any bias. I'd start climbing up, get stuck and stand on the brakes only to have the fronts lock up but with no weight on them just slide back down slamming my rear bumper into the dirt/rock.

Ended up having to winch up The Wall. It's more dug out at the base than when I made it 2 years ago. My roommate attempted it in his 1st Gen 4r on 37s and was shut down. Probably the closest I've seen a rig to flipping as well. Things didn't get any better when his winch was hooked up. The tree we anchored from was pulling him into a worse situation. I ended up flipping around and being his anchor from another direction. Fortunately his rig is fairly light and wasn't pulling me downhill. Got him out of that situation and decided to call it a day. I may never see the end of that trail... 1st attempt I broke a CV, 2nd time there was too much snow, this last time well, someone's shorts needed to be cleaned.

    Stuff. Also things.
Seems like every trail I hear about now is worse off that’ll it was previously. Is this just the way of things or is it because people are just trying to throttle out of everything and beat the shit out of the trail in the process?

Just the natural process of the trails. Erosion is going to happen and the more difficult it is the faster things will change from tire spin.

Any pics of this wall? Crazy that it shut down a 4r on 37's. What's his specs? Double locked and a doubler?

Heres the video of when I made it. Like usual videos don't do it justice. The base is dug out more now and I couldn't get my rear to climb.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BR_DhQiDdzF/?igshid=tpv5ibrdvaog

He has double low and locked f&r. You can see the hole to the right of me in the video. His rear started to drop in and brought his front driver off the ground a foot. Once he was that far over he couldn't back up due to the tree directly behind him. Only way was up.

Maybe, but aside from a little more warning, I don't see much benefit. :notsure:

Adding boost and wanting to check things makes sense though.

When @Wishbone Runner and I hit that last year it was a challenge. It took a lot of doing to get him up. I ended up needing winched up because I slid to the left and it got a little sketch.

Put 4,125 miles on the truck since July 30th. Half of that was moving to Idaho, the other was chasing trout around Wyoming and a bit of wheeling with @Squeaky Penguin and @Night Eagle

I fished almost entirely with a Tenkara rod and found it to be a lot of fun. Fishing on the Green River was the only time I thought a traditional fly rod would have been better.

    More shitbox problems...

I ended up melting the T fitting for the turbo water return line. Not sure why I ordered plastic ones. Fortunately @Squeaky Penguin had an airline T that worked perfectly as a trail repair.

Noticed that I lost another bed mount spacer and that the center crossmember is beginning to crack as well.

Managed to pick up a screw in my rear tire while in the middle of nowhere.

Added some more high clearanceness to my gas tank with the assistance of gravity and a boulder.

Random pictures from the trip. I'm pretty impressed by the Pixel 3's camera.
