    Yeah the problem is I basically burn a minimum of 2 days just to get to the border depending on where I cross (I'm in eastern Iowa). I know once I get up there, I'll likely take more time than I expect or get sidetracked somewhere so I want to make sure I've got plenty of time to do whatever I find along the way. I've been to Banff once a number of years ago, but thats the only thing I've seen up there.

    Yeah, I had usgetting across the border on the morning of day 2, and then the early afternoon of return - 1.

    Think I am either gonna try and sneak a baja trip in this winter or go visit Kamloops and Kelowna area of BC for a week next summer. I'm my own department at work now so I can' be gone for a month any more.

    That's why I was gonna go this year. Then my boss decided to retire earlier than we talked about and fucked me. This trip has been on his calendar for a year so I was pretty ticked when he told me.

    So all of the sudden I ended up as a department head and buying a house in the exact month that I was supposed to take this trip to avoid "life happening to me"

    Yeah, I'm gonna make the big jump of moving my bed on Sunday the 16th, but it sounds like they may be getting out early, so I may have a few days to go take care of a few things before there's a bunch of stuff in the way.
