How waterproof is my Key (2011 Tacoma)

    Who's brother?!? JK--yes this is the best route to take. However, I've taken my real 08 key in the water several times with no problems...yet...

    You don't even need to get this fancy--you can just go to a hardware store that makes keys and they'll usually have a blank that will work (no chip of course). Some places (orchard supply hardware on the west coast) can even make keys with the right chip in them now...

    Umm,yeah so it's only like ...$150.00, right? ....lol.

    I used to have a spare in a hide-a-key on my '91. Saved my hide many o' time, and frequently I even used it intentionally too :rolleyes: ... for mtn biking, kayaking,snowboarding, etc...
    like the blank idear too tho.

    go to a hardwear store and buy a little key box with a magnet on the bottom and stick it to the inside of the frame with your key in it and you wont have any worries !

    OP - why not leave the keys up in the boat or are you scuba diving from shore?
