2017 TRD OR 4WD. Trucks been under the knife the last few months getting a LT kit installed. I know there's only a handful of 3rd Gen owners that have actually regeard their rigs so information is scarce. That being said, like most that are considering gearing its between 4.88 or 5.29. Being that my truck will be used for more high speed stuff vs. crawling or overlanding what would be better? The truck wont be overloaded with armor just a spare, cooler, and tools.

Will be running 35's and already have OVtune installed but haven't been able to upgrade to 1.05 because the truck hasn't been in my possession. I'm leaning towards 5.29's just form all that I've read but my concerns are the shorter gearing limiting my highway speeds and fun speeds on the dirt. Another concern with 5.29s is the the longevity of the gears with the amount of abuse i'll be throwing at the truck and the thinner teeth.

Would 4.88's be better suited for what i'm doing with the rig?

I’m running 4.88’s with OV tune on 35’s. It’s drivable. I would say 35’s is the tipping point to 5.29’s. Now that I’m going bigger I will defiently be swapping the 4.88’s out
P.s nice truck! Looks like twinsies of @erok81

More gear the better...your only talking a couple hundred rpm’s between the two. The 3.5 auto should have came with 4.30’s from the factory IMO.

Thanks! How are your RPMs at highway speeds with the set-up?
