Replacing front grille on 19 TRD Sport

I am looking to replace the front grille of my 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport. I noticed that it seems like the Toyota logo on the stock grille is some sort of sensor. Is this something I have to be concerned with when looking to buy a new grille? where do you guys recommend I look for some aftermarket parts for my taco up in Canada?

Yes You should be concerned with it. You need to buy one that is capable of accommodating to TSS.

 

is it something that I could unplug and stow away or will it mess everything up?

Do a little looking around on here. There are plenty of threads with info on your grill options & TSS info. I believe a member on here is associated with this company. Good luck

 

Research grilles online and input their names on the search function on TW. A lot of owners swap the grille out and there is a wealth of information on here. If the grille is compatible with your model year, it is likely it will accommodate your TSS sensor.

The sensor is behind the Toyota emblem, not the emblem itself.

I really don't know... this system is not in my 17. I know there is a recall or tsb on that sensor, it can get moisture in it and give off false readings/warnings. Dealers were instructed not to fix it if the truck was modified... ie lifted, a grill that didn't come on the truck, etc.
Not all dealers are alike, but most are close enough to be.
