A skid plate for my hitch. To help it slide when I bottom out on the hitch 4 wheeling. So I used a pic of 5/16" steel I had laying around, bent it and welded it to my hitch.
I'm not losing any ground clearance with this design and I still can use my tow hitch

You'd be amazed how heavy the stock hitch is. I switched to an RCI hidden hitch and it was only about 20 lbs heavier than stock.

Actually, this looks handy. Didnt think it'd be an issue, but it was a few weekends ago. Nothing a few whacks and some spray paint to get the chain loops close enough.

I don’t think I did that optional climb. I somehow escaped devil’s staircase unscathed. I don’t have a lift, but I do have tall tires. I think the hitch skid the OP linked will be in my list of things to pick up as I would rather bump that sacrificial steel than bump my hitch receiver. Also, my girlfriend is short, so the step would be nice.

I've taken one off on a previous gen. It was maybe 50lbs? I don't know if it changed for the 3rd gen, but surprising if it's within 20lbs of a plate bumper.
